Exhibition Poster
Create hierarchy by arranging different textual and visual elements. Event referenced is an exhibition at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art featuring Bill Viola's Slowly Turning Narrative.
Process
Rough Drafts
It was challenging to create a typographic hierarchy that complemented the images I was able to work with. I tried to include elements like water and fire because they are incorporated into many of the artist's projects. I also experimented with including images directly from the video exhibition. I struggled to find a system that would be easy for the viewer to read.
Final Design
I finished with an image of a woman floating through water because that is how I think the artist interprets the viewers—people floating through their existence. Yellow was chosen as an accent color to compliment the numerous values of blue.
